Rafa needs to spit his dummy out, pre-season and the Spurs game, have illustrated the dire need for us to sign two experienced players. A centre back and a striking understudy.

The well advertised names would fit the bill, namely Distin and Tuncay.

If it means selling / swapping / loaning out players, then Babel, Voronin, Dossena, Degen and any of the kids (other than Insua) could all be made available ..

I thought Skrtel was going to run that injury off. If Agger isn't fit then it looks like Ayala will get the nod seeing as he played on Sunday.

I saw him play at Watford I think it was in the Carling Cup semi. We won, so he must have done something right.

Didn't that go to a replay?

No mate. It was the second leg and we went through 2-0 on aggregate. I can't remember the first leg but Gerrard scored in the second late on after a poor display from the Reds. We lost to Chelsea in the final but Rafa and the Reds had the last laugh.

That's the bugger. I knew it was played twice, and that I didn't get to Anfield for the home game as I was stuck on the M62 on account of some selfish bastard lorry driver having his lorry blown over in high winds over Scammonden dam. The bastard.
