You're not on about the game against Chelsea are you? Because he scored an own goal in that game, but he was rather impressive and handled Drogba superbly for the most part.

Not sure why he's gone there though. The fact that he's staying with Fulham 'til the end of the season, despite the Mancs defensive crisis is puzzling too. Unless Vidic is off next season or something.

Thats the one yes.

Own goal and completely missed his man and was at fault when Drogba got the second.

I have to say I`ve not got much else to judge him from seeing as he has not actually been a regular, far from it.

Smallings stats:

EL: 4(4+0) matches

PL: 2(1+1) matches

FA: 1(1+0) match

CC: 1(1+0) match

I'd be surprised if Smalling is a replacement for Vidic - more likely a longer-term replacement for Ferdinand. He's extremely highly rated down in London despiteb his lack of first-team games so far, and he's remarkably accomplished for his age. £7m could end up being a real steal, although it's always difficult to know with young defenders (whereas promising young strikers are more predictable, i think)

I do think we can expect United to spend big this summer if only because the Glazers will want to do something to reinforce their position in the club, and this will be easier now they have had the bond issue take up.

reports all season of Vidic being courted by big clubs in Spain circa £20-25m

It doesn't make sense to sell Torres because we can't increase our wage bill.

If that £100m went ONLY to transfer funds, and the wages weren't an issue than it wouldn't be that bad of a sale, really, given how fucked we are with our owners.

But this summer the wages came out the transfer budget. I can see that being pretty permanent.

Sky Sports News have just said we have enquired about Benjani.....fuck off

We need an option to Kuyt. He is the most defensive striker in the world. The lack of footall brain, along with a horrible touch breaks down most attacks. Benjani, as rubbish as he is, would actually improve us when Torres is out. And that is scary.

I think Benjani might be decent business. When he was at Pompey I seem to remember he scored a decent amount of goals. He is strong, reasonably fast, and knows the league. As a back up sort of striker, given our situation and Nando's injury problems, I think Benjani is worth a look. There, I've said it.

It may well be that we can benefit from Man Citeh's ridiculous accumulation of stikers. If we were willing to spend up to £12M on Kenwyne Jones, then for me Benjani is more proven, is likely to cost less than Jones, and is more likely again to be available on a loan should we not be in a position to buy.

Since I'm bored here, IF Nando did go to Citeh for £100M and IF the money was invested into the team (possibly with a new manager spending the cash), how would you spend it?

Villa - £40M

Aguero - £40M

Silva - £20M

If we did sell torres for investment purposes none of those players would come as we would be lacking the ambition to have house hold names in our team.

The Times are saying it's 7-8m upfront and 4-5m based on appearances. Fuck me that's a lot for someone who has only played about 20 games. He must be mega highly rated - it's odd that most of use haven't heard of him as virtually every other teenager that's been bought for a few million or more we're normally very aware of - Bostock, Ramsey, Walcott, Bale, etc.

He's played ONE league game for Fulham.
