I just have regret - Was it really worth sitting on the United bench for 1 season and in the process destroy any kind of affinity he had with the Liverpool fans - if he had rejected the vices of Man United and went to Hull/Stoke he may have been forgiven over time as his contribution to Liverpool over largely difficult times deserves recognition.

I don't think he cares. He's only ever used clubs as platforms for his England career. That's why I'm delighted this move to ManUre has helped to ruin his chances of getting back into the England side.

I think he will come to care over the forthcoming years - most professionals want to be remembered fondly by at least a football club which they can call home and I somehow dont expect his achievements at Madrid, Newcastle or Man United are even noted.

If he would have gone to Hull/Stoke he would have played in most games as well until he got injured again.

And by playing week in and week out he might even have made the plane to South Africa....

N'gog, 21 games (10 as a sub) 6 goals.

Owen, 27 games (17 as a sub) 7 goals.

Although that little prick scored 3 in one game against Wolfsburg, so his 2 goals in 5 starts and 11 sub appearences against N'gogs 4 in 6 starts and 8 sub appearences seems a better option for me.
