Tell you what though its one of them games were if they'd have won they'd have thought their name was on everything, and that sort of belief can be dangerous.

Now a bit of doubt over their credentials has been sown again, we'll see how they react

My thoughts exactly; they would have had 2 penalty wins at Wembley and believed in Faith/Destiny.

The doubts were there before the game today, hence his rant during the week and his team selection today, them doubts were confirmed with the nature of their loss; hard done too, should have had a penalty etc.

Now we must push home the advantage and win big on Tuesday.

honestly though, he put a half arsed team out today thinking that he'd still win, their penalties were lazy and they thought cahill had just handed them the win on a plate after his first pen.

nice little shock for them there, i think.

i just hope we give them something else to worry about tomorrow.

Yes but let's not forget, most of the players we need to get 'tired' and injured didnt play today so although they arent going to 'win everything' (thank god), today was like not playing for most of his recognised first team.

But likewise this casts additional doubt on the "best squad ever assembled" and as long as we don't slip up the players rested today aren't going to get another game off till season's end. I don't expect Pompey to trouble them much but after that it's Spurs, Boro away, the Manc derby, Wigan away, Arsenal, and Hull. Rooney looks like he won't be playing all those games, and I doubt Ferdinand will either.

If they drop points any time in the next couple days (a draw to Spurs would be ideal, right before their semifinal) then they'll be staring right down the barrel of a "quintuple" season turned Carling Cup parade. And Ferguson is clearly feeling this already; you can bet if it were any other manager in the league, and especially Rafa, that Sunday's team selection and the pregame rant about a team he wasn't even playing would've been set down as the moment when it fell apart for good.

That was one rubbish team fielded by the mancs, I'm surprised the BS couldn't beat them in normal time, since they've been in some decent form of late.

I've not even heard of some of the players the mancs had out there today.

Without Rooney and Ronaldo, the mancs are nothing. Just a 2 man team.

I think United will be getting the boxed set. A complimentary boxed set of FA Cup 2008/09 DVD's from Everton. Reaching an FA Cup final will require more than just a single DVD release. They'll definitely be giving it the boxed set treatment.
