What's behind the name of the new cat @Mook ?

My missus picked it to soften me up because she agreed to get the cat without consulting me & she knows I love Ginger Baker.

You needed consulting ? I'm surprised it was your idea.

She knows I'm a soft touch when it comes to cats. It's always me who ends up feeding them & playing with them.

My brother and his wife have had the same arrangement for years with dogs and cats. He's named pets after Leadbelly, Bessie Smith, Dean Martin, Bonnie Raitt and a few others.

love ginger cats - never had one though.

My wife would love a ginger kitten/cat but every time we have 'vacancy' a stray comes along fills the void.

When one of our previous cats, Mr Bollocks snored he sounded like a jet engine. Sadly he wandered off one morning and we never saw him again.

I find looking at cats sleeping very therapeutic. They always look so happy in their slumber.

How has the other cat taken to the new arrival Mook ?

Not well at all. She's refusing to come into the living room & we've had to put her food half way up the stairs so she'll eat it.

I did warn my missus many times but she wouldn't listen. Hopefully Dusty will get over it but it looks like it's going to take a while.

He'll be propping up bars in Soho, flouting the smoking rules.

Exactly.

We always seem to take in blind, three-legged street cats from Mexico.

I'm usually a good planner - always thinking ahead, but I must admit, I'm not entirely sure what we're going to do in retirement with our cats. Will they be able to live in the wilds of Northern Ontario ? Will they fly with us down to Mexico for the winter ?

I guess we'll figure it out when it happens. I could see myself telling the wife to fly down ahead, and see out the winter with the cats in peace and quiet.

Don't tell her I said that though.

A couple from my village found an abandoned cat in a forest with a injured leg. We were planning on adopting a cat after we finished decorating but this little fucker pulled at our heart strings. The couple took him to the vet and they think he broke/fractured his leg and it’s not healed properly.

We are going back to the vet tomorrow and hoping there’s some way of making it more comfortable for him as he hops about a bit.
My previous cat wasn’t very sociable but this guy is the complete opposite. He constantly needs love and affection.
Just hope that he’ll be ok as he’s part of the family after 24hrs already. We’ve called him Rui.

Well done that man. The're tough little sods and he'll pull through fine.
