He's been shite since he left Arsenal where he was always a threat and tidy at the back. No one else capable but Barry though.

 

Agreed. The past 3 years he's looked like he's playing with his boots on the wrong feet or something. Somehow he's still getting picked at international and club level, he needs to be dropped by one of them (if not both) so it gives him a kick up the arse. He'd probably enjoy that though.

 

Not that I'm bothered like, I hate the twat with a passion but he's shitness adds to my detest of him. His bird is a fucking dick as well, the talentless Geordie slut.

 

Stephen Warnock and Leighton Baines should be England's left backs, they've both been ace this season. Cole and Wayne Bridge are living on their reputations now, which is amazing really as they've both been terrible for ages.

At Arsenal I thought he fully justified the hype. Since the move to Chelsea he's been awful though - apart from in one international tournament. Was it the last world cup? I can't remember, but he was superb for England either then or at the last Euro tournament they played in.*

Agreed that Cole has looked a totally different person since leaving Arsenal , but looking at your shortlist of 4 , I would say that by default he is still the best player.

 

Bridge - see 'ordinary' in the dictionary & had possibly the worst international performance by an England player I have ever seen against Croatia last year.

 

Warnock - decent player & likeable lad , but his defensive work can be awful

( holding the line etc. ) & is very slow on the turn which would be siezed upon at International level.

 

Baines - had a decent couple of months , but couldn't get a game at Everton 3 months ago & is suspect defensively , & the same height & weight as my 11year old niece.

 

Basically our left backs are collectively poor by international standards.
