Liverpool shirt 1986-1987 Adidas originals

I've bought it, it's my third adidas retro shirt after the home and away 1990 one's I bought. I wish adidas and the club didn't have such a stupid agreement that leads to them releasing shirts independently of each other and the club, as usual, coming off worse.

It's a fucking disgrace. Looks like it was knocked up in the Heritage on a Saturday afternoon by Stan Boardman and several children he may or may not have fingered.

 

More likely, he did not finger said children. Or make counterfit goods.

Why is demand so high for that one? I dont think its that nice of a shirt, we didnt win anything at all during that season, anyone explain?

 

Id love to get any old shirt and this one seems to be the most common.

It's also the 1985/86 shirt as well, and I can assure you we did win a few trophies that year. It's basically a homage to the Chelsea match, what a day out that was.

This one was released by adidas under the originals banner before they resigned with us in 05. They released it without the club badge but identical otherwise. I'd rather have that then the shitty ones the club release that have one stripe.

Great year that was. We were 19 points behind Everton in the January but went on a brilliant run and they ended up bottling it against Oxford on the run in. Class goal on the last day of the season by the King to win us the title.

 

*Edit - this was also the year the Mancs started the season with 10 straight wins and the Manc loving media were wanting to present them with the championship in September. How we laughed as they collapsed spectacularly.

Has yours got the proper Umbro badge on mate? The one's I've seen have some wanky diamond type design but it wasn't the proper Umbro badge.

You're right mate. And the 'LFC' font is wrong too.

 

The 1985 tracksuit top is even worse

 

- the original didn't have stripes down the arms

- the adidas logo was in white and on the sleeve, not under the badge

- wrong font for the LFC again
