I've been trying the alcohol free stuff recently, surprised how good some of them are.

Becks blue, not bad and you can get larger cases of it which is handy.

Budweiser. Like sweet fizzy piss, surprisingly like the alcoholic version.

Punk IPA, liked it but can only do 4 as it's quite heavy and you lose the flavour very quickly.

Stella, alright and almost tastes like a beer.

Heineken, same as Stella bit feels more lightweight.

San Miguel, its quite sweet but has the same heavy feel as a beer. My favourite.

Anyone else onto these?

Here you go…

The Mash Gang stuff is great, as are the Lambo series from Mikkeller.

But there’s a couple of dozen or so to try here, most will be decent.

Am currently in Sydney and struggling to get hold of anything better than pretty bog standard IPAs, even in fairly big bottle shops. Does anyone have any recommendations of bars/breweries to look out for?

Ask around for a bar with Coopers on tap, Their bottled beer is top draw too, this is my Coopers 'Real Ale' home brew , superb.

Thanks mate, but I should have said 'apart from Cooper's'! Really like all their beers.

Have been here many times over the years (my wife is from Sydney) and up until a few years ago I was jealous of how easy it was to get a beer like Cooper's on draft when in the UK we only really had lager and real ale (which I love but not all the time).

But I think in the last few years the UK has moved way ahead of Australia in terms of variety and quality of craft beer both on draft and in shops.
