Been following this on Twitter today and drinking in the outrage of Vegans. This is my favourite response so far to Peter Oborne.

 

 

You are wrong. His email was inciting to violence. It is hate crime and he should have been prosecuted. This has nothing to do with vegans. It is no different than had he called for gays, black people people,e tc, to be killed. BTW, I am not a troll.

Maybe* i'm biased towards songs, films, etc. that I like, but I think that words only have meaning (and power) in context: that's why the idea of banning words is always wrong. 

 

There's a world of difference between portraying unpleasant people in an unpleasant relationship using suitably unpleasant words and using those words to abuse, alienate and demean real people in real life.

I dunno, have “they” banned the word or has someone taken the decision to censor it because this particular song gets played 300,000 times a day over the Xmas period. “Cheap lousy faggot” - far be it from me to be all offended on behalf of the gays, but that’s a weaponised slur, do we need to hear it every 5 minutes on the radio? Does it ruin the song for people if it’s censored? I don’t particularly give a shit either way but if it annoys the pc gone mad brigade then fucking great times.
