he has moved up the pecking order i think with keane leaving he will get more of a chance perhaps thats the motivation he needs to be honest

Well, given the lack of striking options were Nando to go down with an injury (heaven forbid!), it'd be either Kuyt or Babel up front with the other on the right, you would imagine. Whatever, I just want to see this guy get a string of games together and get his confidence up, as we could really do with some of those super-sub specials to ice a few games in the 2nd half of the season...

All is not lost with Babel. He had half an hour up front against Chelsea at their place and looked class.

 

If he can do that against one of the top teams in the league he should be good enough against the majority. All depends which Babel turns up though.

Babbel needs to be 'angry' to get the best out of him at the moment, that showed on Wednesday. He saw all the antics everton were up whilst he was warming up and decided to give the don't fuck with me vibe back with a few early challenges of his own, may it continue. He has the potential to be no2 behind Torres.

I cant see Rafa playing a 36 year old right back up front regardless of how crazy some of his decisions seem.

I'd like to see Babel installed as the clear no.2 striker after Torres. He needs games in this position. He looked strong against Everton. He looked very dangerous against Chelsea. I see all the downsides to his game like everyone else, but I'd give him another season after this one as the clear no.2 striker behind Torres. If he doesn't show enough after that, get rid.

We have 2 main options for support for nando or to give him a break on occasions.

 

Dirk is the safe option but Babel is the wild card.

 

The way I see it

 

Dirk will always be admirable but his limitations cannot be overcome ( lack of speed ).

 

Babel could become world-class as he has every physical asset he needs but needs to decide that he wants to work his tripes out to realise the maximum of his talents . To help him do this though , his manager/coaches need to give him their backing that he will get a reasonable run of games to bring this to fruition.

After the Havant game last season , a disgrace, it's a last resort as far as I'm concerned. Despite the criticisms of him I much prefer Dirk in that role to Babel.
