So that would be us paying 20 mill for Owen who has less that 6 months on his contract.

Not while there is a hole in my arse.

I'm guessing we would be getting some cash as well but I think there is more chance of Hicks and Gillett admitting they are cunts and giving us away to DIC for free as a goodwill gesture.

Rafa's had four years and plenty of opportunites to sign Owen.

If he wanted him, he would be our player by now.

Why can't people just accept that he simply doesn't want him?

It makes some sense logically now though. He seems to want Keane even less, and if he can engineer a solution where he gets a short term replacement....

I can't see Keane going to Newcastle though. Maybe Spurs take him back and we do a similar thing with Owen as P'mouth have with Pennant.

Guest Ulysses Everett McGill
Just been informed by someone I trust highly that Michael Owen is coming back with Robbie Keane going the other way.

Anyone heard the same?

PS. Don't shoot/hang/rape/gang rape the messenger....

You mean your Dad phoned you?

It's a fucking nonsense rumour as it would be over Rafa's dead body

Owen is certainly a better option than Keane for 4-4-2 set up, but, in the majority of games, I very much doubt that's what we'll play - and nor would I want us to.

That would mean Owen spending a fair amount of time starting on the bench, unless he makes an incredibly good case to be starting ahead of Torres - which seems unlikely.

It's Owen, rather than Benitez, who I can't see that appealing to.
