Favourite Sopranos Scenes

I think Gandolfinis portrayal of Tony is probably the best performance ever. Am I one of the few who really wanted to see him get whacked though. He's the greatest anti hero, you want him to outdo the other gangsters but he is genuinely a piece of shit who deserves the same fate he deals out. That scene where Janice is over coming her anger issues and it makes him jealous so he just stirs the shit in order to get her to to show the exact same flaws he sees in himself. He is made up with himself when it works, I think that scene more than any made think what a piece of shit, he has power, wealth but he's still just vindictive and petty a broken dangerous and cruel man.

I think he was killed in the final episode.

That scene with the kinks song coming on is unbelievable.

It’s probably been mentioned lots but the scene where he is depressed with the failed hit is beyond belief good. Tiny tears playing as the music.

there’s one after livia dies and him and Janice are getting pissed talking about her.really feels like they are brother and sister with a shared history, and it’s funny too.

People debate which is better The Sopranos or The Wire (The Wire for me narrowly).

I was watching the old comedy film "What About Bob" the other day and there is an actress from the Sopranos in it and an actor from The Wire. Was pretty surprised to see two actors  from two of the greatest dramas of all time in a film that is essentially about winding up Richard Dreyfuss.

I hate seeing actors from the wire or the sopranos in other stuff, particularly shit stuff.

To be fair What about Bob is great, a really funny Bill Murray comedy. Its just you don't expect it.

Really small cameo anyway. It was Janice.

I don’t blame them obviously, it’s their job.

I saw Daniels out the wire in some terrible detective shit and felt kind of wronged. Everyone on that show should have gone in to great things.

I actually think Junior says something similar.

"He's a cunts hair from being boss of New Jersey and I'm that cunt hair".

Something like that I think.

It’s a good phrase.  ‘You’re a cunts hair from getting fired” Rawls says when McNulty refuses to blame the innocent homeless guy.

An underrated sub plot is that of Feech La Manna, It’s so well done.

His inability to get up to speed with the times and accept Tony as the boss is excellently played out. The scene I love is the one that seals his fate, where Tony cracks the joke and everyone is laughing but him, he’s just stewing in having thunder stolen from him.
