Police are cunts

Huge. But not all, in-fact there are some fine human beings in the forces. Unfortunately the cunt level does outweigh the decent. It's probably the same with the police, defo some right bullies in them but some decent coppers as well. Videos like that don't help, yes the fella wasn't complying but if they can't restrain one old man whose pissed up safely without having to resort to tasers and volleys then they either aren't getting the correct training or their tolerance levels are well below the accepted level for a police officer. it' a hard job granted but go and kick fuck out of burglars and drug dealers instead of picking on old men who have nicked a can. They rarely turn up within an hour of a burglary call out. You're lucky if you see them within 24 hours. Too busy shooting deer and dragging relatively harmless people across the street.

Very similar. I think both jobs attract a lot of absolute wankers. People who like the idea of being given a license to speak to people like shit, throw their weight around, etc.

I feel sorry for the good people in both who have to deal with it.

In both cases their job is made more difficult by an utterly hateful and incompetent government.

Yeah, fair enough. Not singling out the military - just picking them as similar sorts really to gauge what you thought of them.

I think the percentage of people who are cunts in the world, say 50%, don’t gravitate to one career in particular. We walk among you.

If, as according to a lot of opinion in this thread, the police are a gang of right wing, micro penised victims of bullying, hell bent on destruction of society, then why don’t you get yourselves signed up and make a difference? Because I’m sure all of us with left wing ideals would be far more accepting of and open to the plights of the fucking dick heads we would encounter on a daily basis. It must be that they’re all tories eh? Fuck sake.

I used to think bizzies were all scum too, until I wasn’t a child brained scally anymore and have also been the victim of crime as an adult, which the police have been there to investigate and support on. Must be some lucky people in here who never need the police or the legal system to protect them.

If it wasn’t so miserable, I’d find it hilarious how criminals are elevated above a group of people who sign up to protect innocent people and uphold some semblance of law.

Nah some of us just think volleying the town drunk in the head after you have tasered him because you are in a uniform and have all your shite house back up with you, is a tad excessive.

And how did those find upstanding chaps from s yks protect innocent people back in 89?

Gawd bless em

Don’t shoplift.  (Although it was probably a Tory shop so fuck them - property is theft)

When stopped by the police for shoplifting don’t assault the officer

When told to comply, comply.
Count your lucky stars the taser didn’t deploy properly, although it it had you probably wouldn’t have been booted.

Can we pop over to the feral kids thread to understand just when the police should be a bit tougher on criminals?

No, just those who shoplift and resist arrest.  Shoplifting costs the economy £2.2bn a year.  Don’t assault anyone, never mind a copper.  Just keep your hands to yourself or you’ll end up worse off.

So a big problem simply solved.

Just everyone stop shoplifting.

Sorted.

Tesco's yearly profits alone are more than the £2 billion, thats just one major supermarket alone, they also received massive government kick backs throughout the pandemic so if you're looking at this problem from an economic perspective, instead of the taxpayer footing the bill in this case for half a dozen police, plus more police at the station, then courts/solicitors fees/probation etc it'd be cost effective to simply let the man toddle off with the can of cider.

On your second point, who "assaulted a copper"?  the old man in the video didnt.

Those shoplifters who rob a packet of bacon or sausages to give their family a warm breakfast cost way more than those lovely stockbrokers who never cost us a penny.

He must have picked up that can by mistake when he was looking for medication for his aged wife.  Or he is just a pissed up twat pinching beer.

In Ricos defence shoplifting does cause problems for small independent shops struggling to stay afloat.

The fact he's ignored the social  implications and massive tax subsidiary towards the corporates shows he's just a blank tory canvas.

That his ridiculous post went unchallenged pays an unfortunate truth towards the fact we are being punched into tory/media fed submission. Yet when the lowest paid/working class workers in society get a well deserved pay rise it's met with scorn and derision.

But what about the economic cost? You were counting the penny's these people cost us earlier, whatabout the cost to the taxpayer?  Police/courts/solicitors/probation etc.  You put up a 2 billion figure that these people cost us the taxpayer, that figure is less than Tesco alone made this year.

You brought up the figures.

Only Gnasher could pivot from pissed-up shoplifting tramps to the war in Libya in just two posts.

And only Gnasher would.

Well I'd have rather see police tazer the cunts that go into places like the Manchester arena and murder 23 kids than take down a drunk nicking a can of strongbow.

They can't be everywhere is the normal police excuse, but after Cameron made Libya a hotbed of warriors seeking Jihad whilst at the same time slashing police numbers has I suppose its given them an excuse. The national police policy now seems to be go in heavy and full blast on low hanging fruit.
