Hyypia is our most dangerous player by some distance.

Only Gerrard and Alonso can be satisfied from our 6 front players.

Much better than against Fulham, but still too many players are just passengers.

If Kuyt plays as a striker he needs to operate at least once in awhile close to the penalty area. I feel sorry for Keane who is left all isolated while Kuyt works around the midfield area, giving him no support. I also wonder how many under par performances Riera is allowed. He has been woeful again. Indecisive and no threat or creativity whatsoever.

Alonso needs to be more agressive in his defensive work. He just backed off and backed off and backed off until Bellamy unleashed a shot inside the post. You cant allow a forward to run unchallenged so long. That kind of defendeing allowed Bentley to turn un shot leading to a goal against Spurs. It nearly cost us again.

The positives. Alonso and Gerrard seems crisp and sharp in their passing. Yossi has been good, while Dossena has actually looked like a footballer. Hyypia has been solid, but he should at least have had two goals from totally unmarked headers.

It`s the same as usual...we need to be clinical. We are so unbelievably wasteful in front of goal. It`s not only the finishing, but so many times we end up in positive positions only to waste it all with the final ball. We are so dependant on Gerrard to create something and that is frightening.

Oh god, please not another slip up at HOME when our main rival has dropped points? I'm going to cry if we don't take advantage, and as far as I'm concerned we can kiss the title goodbye if we don't win here.

Vital 45 mins coming up.

Mt Setanta went off too but is back now after I unplugged the TV for 5 minutes. Setanta is getting fucked off tomorrow.

As for the game (what I saw of it) we're crying out for 2 players upfront. We've done well until the last third then we're non existant. Keane can't play on his own and needs someone with him.

Bastard server bastard overload. Bastard. I swear if I ever win the lottery I'm going to buy Dave the biggest shiny double-decker bus sized cunt of a server you've ever seen, not to mention more bandwidth than fucking NASA.

    • Loris Karius is heading back to Liverpool at the end of the season.
The German goalkeeper’s two year loan spell with Besiktas concludes in May and The Mirror (via The Athletic) says that the Turkish club have no plans to trigger the buy-on clause to make the deal permanent.

The spell of Karius in England was littered with high profile blunders highlighted by his calamitous performance in the 2018 Champions League final and those mistakes have continued to haunt him in Turkey.

So much so that last March Senol Gunes his manager at the time said:

“Karius has gone a bit stagnant, something is wrong with his electricity, motivation, enthusiasm for the game."

The 26 year-old will return to his parent club, but he will do so in the knowledge that there is no future for him at the Reds.

Not only is his replacement Alisson firmly ensconced as the No 1, he is widely acknowledged as the best goalkeeper in World Football.

The backup role is ably filled by Adrian who did a fine job at the start of the season when the Brazilian was out with a calf injury.

While youngster Caoimhín Kelleher has gained experience in domestic cup competitions.

So all that means that the inconsistent German will be on the lookout for another club.

There is a wide held view that goalkeepers mature much later that their outfield colleagues so in that sense Karius has many years to make an impression in the game.

Just how much the Reds can get for him will be very interesting to note.

    • Never was a graphic so appropriate. Soriano, Guardiola, Sterling; a whole cavern of rats carrying their ill gotten oil money across the ocean with them. He's just a deeply, deeply unpleasant piece of work, isn't he? And -- on the dawn of a Champions League tie -- it again harks back to just what a small provincial football club Manchester City are.   You once said: “Everyone's dream growing up is seeing themselves in an away kit somewhere in a sunny country”. Would you like to play one day for Real Madrid? (Laughs) How do I answer that one? Is the camera live or is it just taking pictures? No one knows what the future will hold. I am a player and I am always open to challenges but right now my challenge is at Manchester City. In the future, hopefully, who knows..
    • @TheDrowningMan  -- see above   Get it together ya blert!!
    • I've never seen pessimism like it, even on this forum.   I'm almost tempted to write to Klopp and ask him to lose this one.
    • Tomorrow is the day the record for most goals scored by a team in a premier league match gets beaten.

If we keep them in single figures we’ll have done well. Our team is shot to pieces, and we’ll be lucky to rack up more than 10 points between now and the end of the season.

This time next year Ajeti will be our main striker, and he STILL won’t be able to hit a barn door.

Apologies if anyone finds this message overly positive about our current plight. I can edit and make it a bit more negative if required.
