I also am unaware of this windass. I now live in London Taaarn, and am only very very slightly aware of Cokerney slang as no-one speaks it here apart from Babs Windsor and 'ironic' BBC executives (oh if only we could understand the joke). I also understand they use words like 'I'm going for a Kelvin'; a smelly shite, sometimes known as I'm going for an Ertha (Kitt) however Ertha's connection is only due to her name rather than an personality traits
