Not sure I’d call it hard work, but it’s not Mary Poppins either. It’s very enlightening and possibly his best work.

Manufacturing consent is a great read. Just picked up “who rules the world?” Gonna give that a look tomorrow

Understanding Power is also a good one. It's not so much a book as a collection of his lectures and essays, but it works as a compilation. I liked that a lot.

He does have a series of smaller, easier to read, books as well for anyone not wanting to commit to what can be, at times, fairly heavy going stuff.

 

One on Palestine, another on Anarchy, and I think one on the Occupy movement. Possibly others.
