The "things that make you realise you're getting older" thread

When you go through your clobber and realise that you have nothing 'fashionable' in there. Its all v neck jumpers, polo shirts, jeans and the same two or three pairs of Adidas you've been buying for years (in my case Chile 62', Sambas and Stan Smiths).

Then you decided to freshen it up, by buying slightly different coloured Adidas than you would normally risk, t-shirt's and tops that aren't just plain or stripped; and jeans that aren't those ones from gap or levis that you just find comfy.

Growing your hair - even though you don't suit it - purely because it's warmer.

Add to that, the main factor in coat buying is not water proofing followed by a good lining; and wearing fleeces for pretty much any occasion.

When I go down the pub these days, I could easily be mistaken for a polar explorer who got lost and popped in for a beer on the off chance.

Walking into electrical shops and thinking "what the fuck is that?"

Looking at PCs before and one said on it "this PC has a touch screen". I got a flashback to the first time I saw Star Trek the motion picture, realised I was about three at the time, and then left Comet swiftly and in a mild state of distress.

I find I'm becoming increasingly 'aware' of my knees. They don't hurt as such, but for the first time in my life I know they're there and that they're a finite resource. They're always there now in the background, like white noise - they speak to me subconciously and say things like 'best take the lift just in case.'
