What I don't understand is the concentration of fluoride in drinking water is 0.7 ppm but in toothpaste it is up to 1500 ppm, so if I swallow a little bit of toothpaste won't I be getting a far more significant dose of fluoride? Is there a chemist who can explain this (I'm guessing it is what the fluorine is bonded to but I don't know)?

Don't worry about speaking with a chemist or a dentist mate. Listen to the wisdom of someone who hasn't got a fucking scooby what they're going on about instead.

Tubes of toothpaste typically hold 75ml. You maybe use 1ml of toothpaste at a time. 1ml of toothpaste fluoridated to 1000ppm has as much fluoride as 1 litre of water fluoridated to 1ppm. However, hardly any toothpaste is actually ingested.

 

So, no.

So, no.

That makes sense apart from the "hardly any toothpaste is ingested" - makes mental note to start rinsing mouth properly. Of more concern is the volume of coffee I drink, which I have learnt can provide ten times as much fluoride as I get from brushing my teeth. Then again, even adding fluoridated water to this still leaves me well short of the tolerable daily intake so I think there are more pressing dietary concerns I should worry about.

I can't remember the name of that thing that panicked parents a few years ago, because there was supposed to be some animated character on YouTube or something, that was telling kids to kill themselves.

I think they expect JFK junior who died in a plane crash which they claim was faked. They are proper nutters either way. That said, I’m not a stranger to the pink shirt, beige chinos look in the summer months.
