That West Ham match was grim enough, but now there's nothing but the ever-present threat of new injuries to distract us from our bitching and bellyaching until real football returns.

The only ones I see it being beneficial for are Taki, Neco, Kelleher and Kostas.

Otherwise, what you said

Looks like they are pressing ahead with a World Cup every two years.

Are they going to axe the Euros, or does this mean a major International tournament three out of every four years?

They’d surely have to axe qualifying. Have the major teams in every tournament and draw from a hat for the rest. It’s the only way it could possibly work.

Football is probably at the height of it's publicity and interest now. It's no surprise there are calls for more football to fill the gaps.

They should make the World Cup for amateurs. That'd be entertaining

As radical as it sounds but what is stopping uefa from saying our countries won't be involved in biennial tournaments.

The fifa World cup wouldn't have any value then. I read fifa have stopped Argentina and Brazil from playing on the nations league. Another tournament that should never have started.

When wil players get a break and when will those fans that follow this shite get some respect with costs, time and the traveling involved.

All for the sake of 3.3 billion.

As we all know this isn't our game anymore.

We were at the euros in 2000 on football tour, we spent about 13 days on the piss travelling between Holland and Belgium.

We played two friendlies against shite local teams when a mate came back one night to announce he’d entered us in a six a side tournament.

We all thought it would be a laugh until we realised on the first day of the tournament it was a Uefa six a side tournament for fans of the nations competing and only England didn’t have an official team representing them.

Guess who we ended up getting put in for to make up the numbers?

We fucking stank of alcohol, got battered in all 3 games we played and had to sub a player for throwing up on the pitch.

Now that's the kind of international football we could all get behind!

I've found myself getting more and more interested in International Football again now that domestic football has become more and more of a shitshow with Man Citys and Newcastles just going to run everything for decades and the superleague and all that.  As each day passes I find myself further and further detached from club footy and more drawn towards the Irish team.
