Depressingly I'm struggling to name three players as we were so poor that no three individuals stood out enough to warrent nomination.

If I was pushed though I would go:

1. Reina - clean sheet, caught and distributed well.

2. Torres - no service but quality goal.

3. Alonso - dictated and dominated the second half - a true enigma.

Torres simply for the goal. A rare gem amongst a sea of shite.

Alonso. some shoddy distribution again but helped control the game and always showed for the ball. A wonderful long range effort again.

Reina. not alot to do but did it with assurance, very safe on crosses.

1. Torres - Anonymous for 83 minutes, but makes them pay. Class, and thankfully he's ours.

2. Alonso - Slow into the second half, but grew in stature and bossed it eventually.

3. Sami - Rare early mistake, but assured after that.

Special mention to Dossena in the first PL game and whilst didn't venture forward as much, I think he's an improvement over JAR and will provide much needed width in future games.

1 Torres....a moment of class, according to guy on setanta had fewest touches of anyone starting the game, but just needed one..and was sharp enough for Gordons parry before Keane intervened

2 Reina...Esp in second half his catching was excellent

3 Hyppia, showed he can still contribute
