I hate Spiders. I'd rather wake up to burglars in the house than a spider on my quilt.

That said, I'm intrigued by this new Spielberg one. She asked earlier would I go the pictures and I said that the perverse side of me might ..... then she said what if it's in 3D and my skin shedded. Fuck. That

Anyone who doesn’t love The Stath, just doesn’t love.

His cameo in Spy is brilliant.

Five hours of trying to qualify for a track race in a vauxhall nova before it just kind of ends. Looks great though.

Haha, remember on PlayStation 1 the starting car was a green Nissan Micra!

I hated these types of games were you had to practice for ages to unlock better cars or races etc, they bored me tbh.

I may be in the minority here but I don't find sharks scary at all. I swim in the sea probably once or twice every few years. Either falling out of a boat in cold waters were there are no sharks or on holiday where i am 1 of a 100 targets for a predator that probably is not there.

People scare me far more than sharks. A fucking nutter is far more likely to do me than a shark. And not in some romantic heroic fashion. It will be because his subway sarnie has gone up by 20p. or I nicked his favorite parking slot.

Does Meg 2 and Black Demon count as twin films or does Meg 2 being a sequel disqualify it?

Dante's Peak & Volcano

Prestige & The Illusionist

Armageddon & Deep Impact

Bugs Life & Antz

etc etc

It's weird how it happens that films of the same type of plot get realised in the same year. I reckon it's studios getting wind of other studio work and jumping on board with similar films to capture some of the audience.

A couple of other mentions.

The Matrix and the much better (imo) The thirteen floor. Both about simulated reality.

Dead man's curve and Dead man on Campus. Both centered on student suicide at exam time, the latter more a comedy version than the more darker plot of the former.

Yeah, that does seem to happen from time to time. In 2007, there were two films released within months of each other about the (horrific) Sylvia Likens case- The Girl Next Door and An American Crime. There were the Fyre festival documentaries a few years ago, the spate of Vietnam films in the mid-80s etc. There's a big list of similarly-themed films here- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin_films

Mock Deep Blue Sea all you want but it has one of the greatest jump scares ever in it

Not to mention one of the most surprising A listed actor deaths on record. Proper shocker.

I'd rather jump in a pool with some tit moaning about his Italian BMT than with a great white if I'm brutally honest.

Meanwhile, at Bad Idea Budget Films…

Pitch Meeting: “Remember that John Carpenter movie, Assault on Precinct 13? Well why don’t we remake it, but instead of gang members attacking the station we’ll have big fuck-off CGI alligators!”
