Fucking genius this show, some of the stuff you don't notice first time round.

Just watching the bit after Jackie Jnr has robbed the card game. Ralphie and Tony have a meeting about it where they both try and make out the other should be more embarrassed by it all than the other one.

Then in the next couple of episodes, they both start laying the foundations with their wives for him being killed. Ralphie tells Ro he thinks he's mixed up with dealers, and Tony is reading a newspaper and goes to Carm 'seen this, kid, only 19, dead - because of drugs'.

It's just genius.

  • Tony's comment to Jennifer Melfi, "You don't need a gynecologist to know the way the wind blows" references lyrics from Bob Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues: "You don't need a weatherman to know the way the wind blows."

  • Paulie's line, "I lived through the '70s by the skin of my nuts when the Colombos were going at it", alludes to a mob war in the 1970s that involved the Colombo crime family and in particular to the battles between Mafia factions led by Joseph Colombo and Crazy Joe Gallo.[15] Tony Sirico, who plays Paulie, was also an alleged associate of the crime family during this time.

Finished the rewatch last night.

Will probably try and get another one in around August, before the movie comes out at the end of the October.

We’ve just watched the Christopher Adriana episode near the end of series 5.

My mrs’ first ever watch - it’s taken us months like, but she’s hooked. It really is brilliant tv - something for absolutely everyone.
