He was neither alive nor dead. He was the cat in Schronidgers box.

That's what chase is after though really he wants people to interpret it themselves, he said the clues are all in the last series though. For me if he's implying there's clues then that means there's more to it than tony just having his dinner, I reckon he gets popped. When he spoke to bobby on the boat they talked about getting whacked and how you don't even hear the gun just black. I hope he's dead anyway as much as I loved the show he was one horrible prick who deserved some kind of justice alongside all the other mooks.

That's what makes me think he possibly wasn't whacked at all.  Some people, no matter how loathsome they are or how many bad things they do never get what's coming to them.  Real life is full of such people

I've seen the original script written by chase and tony isn't assassinated in the diner but he does die by choking on some gabagool. His son is assassinated soon after because as tony was choking the lad started hitting his back to bring the food back up and you're not allowed to raise your hands to a made man let alone a boss. He had to go.

Impossible. He ordered onion rings, not gabagool.

Just watching it again now, a few episodes into season 4. I really like Johnny Sack. Can't believe Carmine was up for whacking him over Ralph. Every hated Ralph, and agreed the joke was bad, but Carmine was too into the money from the Esplanade thing? Is that right?

Yep.

There's a scene from season 6 (this isn't really a spoiler) where Sack is talking about Carmine and says he once refused to let someone be whacked for having sex with another man's wife, but when he retired eight years later gave the okay because he wasn't making money any more.

Always wondered what family the New York family was supposed to be, presumably based on the Gambino or Luccese families judging by the fact it operates mainly in Brooklyn and Queens.

Says in season one though that Johnny Sack was the emissary for two new York families, and apparently his brother in law was a boss.

It was later revealed Sack had been in the mafia since 1996 which makes his rise absolutely meteoric, seeing as he's the underboss at the start of The Sopranos in 1999.

Ralph was fucking brilliant.

It was just, a fucking, horse!

Loved the storyline of him & Tony's fallout. I've read a couple if mafia books & the 2 big no-no's are hitting another made guy & taking a made guys woman - both of which Tony did to Ralph. Ralph had legitimate grounds to take out Tony, he just didn't have the balls to go through with it.

I loved the scene at the horse races & Ralph takes Tonys advise on a bet which eventually wins & when Ralphie is kicking up Toby just stands there with his hand out wanting more & more. The slow way Ralph is counting the money like 'Your kidding me, you want fucking more' is great.

Ralph was absolutely ace. I know for the storyline he had to go but I wish he'd been kept around longer.
