Time to roll this baby out. I know there are ownership issues and that ultimately that is the top priority, but this is a footballing question. I think its safe to assume that Barry is in and Alonso probably is out whatever the rights or wrongs of the situation. For me, that strengthens our challenge. So we know our squad and i think its a huge improvement on last year. Keane will add goals, Gerrad can solve our problems on the right and play the Ronaldo role. That leaves us in a very strong position squad wise and first team wise. Rafa is in year 5, he has all his own players, playing his way. We have to challenge for the title this year.

We should be involved in the title race after Christmas this season, no question about it.

I reckon we would have been last year but for the uncertainty about Rafa's position that coincided with some truly dreadful performances and results in December/January.

Assuming we get Barry, Rafa's been backed pretty well in the transfer market this summer, despite the fact that it's in the form of further debt to the club.

On a painful aside, it's about fucking time we beat United in the league too. A win in the September fixture would be ideal.

i wont say we have to win the league as you could lose it on a refs bad dicision

but i think we need to be a real threat to all the teams

I expect a strong challange Rafa will have the strike force he wants the Midfield he wants and the strongest CB position since he came to the club it is all there now to mount the challange lets see us do it Now

I am really looking forward to this season and my one hope is that we ensure United finish 3rd or 4th in a 2 horse race

If we're using the phrase minimum requirement then that's Top 4.

Normal requirement would be top 3 and do well in the cups.

Ambitious requirement would be challenge until May for the league title.

What he said.

I never enter a season with a specific target. There are always circumstances out of your control. I think top four is the only loose requirement i have in my head, but that is not to say I would want shot of Rafa if we came 5th. i would judge on what i had seen in the season.

I expect an improvement in our point total at the end of the season. Because who knows what the other teams will be like. We could get 10 more points than last season, but then Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal could all do the same. So would that mean we have had a bad season? No it wouldnt. A nice trip to wembley would be good for a cup final.

Due to how good we are in Europe, Im dissapointed with anything less than getting to the last 4.

If we can get more points than last season (minimum 5 points more than last season), and do well in Europe, that would do me nicely.

I DEMAND that we win the PL and all the cups, and I DEMAND that win every game playing super-sexy football with tons of stepovers, and I DEMAND that we score at least 5 goals each and every game. And that is a minimum requirement.

Rash we had a challange last year and i would but forward that it was the off field distractions that cost us last season and without that this season we would be good bets to win the Prem

Too much sense and way too positive. Fuck off.
