" Are you taking the piss? " "You're fucking giving it away"

My favourite is 'Life is Sweet' - very funny and only slightly depressing.

One of the best and lesser known ones is 'A Sense of History' - written and performed by Jim Broadbent - superb satire of the English landowning aristocracy. You can watch the whole thing here rather than the annoying 3 part version on youtube. A Sense Of History Movie Review (1992) from Channel 4 Film

He is.

This is how I have spent the last 3 hours of this Friday. May not lead to an uplifiting "M People" weekend, but what the fuck.

Oddly enough, three hours of M People would likely not lead to an uplifiting "M People" weekend either.

Naked is a big favourite of mine.

Nuts In May is much less depressing and also right up there.

Treat yourself to this : Amazon.co.uk: The Mike Leigh Film Collection : Naked / Bleak Moments / Career Girls / Secrets & Lies / Vera Drake / Topsy Turvy / All Or Nothing / Life Is Sweet / High Hopes / Meantime [1971]: Estelle Harris, Sukie Smith, Jim Broadbent, Katrin Cartli

No Nuts In May or Abigail's Party though.
