Songs you get stuck in your head for no reason

Woke up this morning with "The Lonely Goatherd" from Sound of Music going round my head. What the fuck...?

That's gone now and all I've got in my head is "Wednesday Week" by the Undertones whicvh I haven't even heard for about 10 years.

What makes these things happen?

On the theme of “The Lonely Goatherd” (barf) I start humming this from “The King and I” when reading that Getting To Know You thread.................

Getting to know you,

Getting to know all about you.

Getting to like you,

Getting to hope you like me.

Getting to know you,

Putting it my way,

But nicely,

You are precisely,

My cup of tea.

Aveez has much to answer for!

I had a bad week recently after listening to a lot of Flight of the Conchords. I spend minute of every day humming and singing odd little snippets from their songs. Particularly Brett, you got it going on: I couldn't stop mumbling "Brett you got it going on, that's the conclusion I have come to, but that doesn't mean that I want to bum you". It flows wonderfully you see.

Today I have "Colony" by Joy Division, which I don't mind at all. Quite happy to have that kick-up-the-bollocks guitar going round my head all day.

Der der, der der, da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-daaaa

Makes me want to 1.Smash things up; 2.Work superfast on the spreadsheets I'm doing. That could be down to the double espressos though.

Fuckin A.
