Sunshine Tomorrow out at the end of the month, looks magic...

1967 – Sunshine Tomorrow is an upcoming compilation album by American rock band the Beach Boys, to be released by Capitol Records on June 30, 2017. It focuses on previously unreleased recordings from late 1967, particularly sessions dedicated to the group's 13th studio album Wild Honey (1967). Included is the album's first ever complete stereo mix, various live renditions, session highlights, and additional material sourced from Smiley Smile (1967) and the unreleased live effort Lei'd in Hawaii, both of which immediately preceded the Wild Honey sessions.[1]

What you want gents is the Pet Sounds box set and you can hear the whole album acapela with no music.

The harmonies are unreal.

Yes. Worth the entrance fee for the acapela versions alone.

Great stuff. I was listening to hours of the Smile sessions on dodgy bootlegs for years before it was finally officially released. Amazing to listen to a genius in the process of his work in the shape of Brian Wilson directing the band.

By the way, the biopic in which Paul Dano and John Cusack play him is well worth a watch. The Paul Dano likeness is uncanny.

Aye, I went to the pictures to see that & was very impressed. The Pet Sounds recording scenes were a particular highlight.

I love their later 60s/early 70s stuff as well, Friends, 20/20, Sunflower & Surfs Up are all great records & Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue is unbelievable.

Beach Boys fact, Charles Manson co-wrote Never Learn Not to Love with Dennis Wilson, it was a single b-side & featured on their LP, 20/20. It's actually a really good song although I think Manson's version was meant to be 'bluesier' before Dennis done his thing with it.

Do you mean the serial killer, Charles Manson? Or is there another guy with this name with a more gentle lifestyle?
