Truth or myth?

Apparently the captain would start the match holding a £1 coin, and this would be passed around whenever there was a corner/throw-in/free kick. Whoever had the coin at the final whistle, would have to buy the drinks that night or some shit.

Think that was it.

Someone started a match holding a pound coin in their fist. Said pound coin was passed round at regular intervals. Whoever was left holding it at full time would have to get the ale in/let Purple Aki bum them/something or other.

A stronger manager would have had his players concentrating on the match rather than a classroom stunt.

If it is true. Anyone recall actually seeing players pass 'something' amongst themselves at games cos I certainly didnt. And wouldnt the ref or linesman see it?

Might just be ruddock gobbing off as usual.

It was said that the man that held the coin, held it.

Therfore he held it, and by saying he held it , he held it.

Notwithstanding that the coin was held by the forementioned, but it was.

Therefore without doubt the aformentioned held the coin, as was without doubt.

He held it.

He fucking held it!
