Your James Milner. You sign for Liverpool in what is supposed to be the twilight of your career. You pick up…

A Champion’s League

A Super Cup

A World Club Cup

A Premier League

A League Cup

An FA Cup

I was starting to worry about the penalties (goodness knows why they all scored last time) with Mo and Fab out but then Milner came on and I relaxed.

Felt the same way before the last shoot-out.

There was all this rigamarole before it started, and he just stood there patiently waiting to take his pen.

I hope he stays for another season and beyond, in whatever capacity.

He's the definition of leading by example. Great professional, great role model and a man.

Even if he worked at KFC, you know your bargain bucket would be done as well as it possible could be.

Just to make this crystal clear: there is absolutely nothing wrong with working at KFC. I wouldn't want you to be chastised by a certain other forum, er, member.

His future role at the club will be interesting (in a year or so's time), unless he desperately want's to continue playing relatively consistently at the top level you have to keep him at the club as a coach at some level.

Bayern do an interesting thing, and it's been picked up by Brighton, Southampton and Man Utd where they have a really experienced player that solely plays for the U23's effectively as an on field coach. They aren't guaranteed playing time ahead of younger players, or picked irrespective of form but their presence in the changing room and on the pitch is seen as good for development.

Milner as a part time player and a part of the coaching team would be a good spot for him.

That's an Excellent idea and one which would suit Big Games James to a tee should he wish to take it on of course.

Its funny that a lot of people would have been more excited by Joe Cole on a free than Milner.

Hard to imagine, after getting walloped 6-1 by Stoke and signing Milner at 29, that he would go on to see 3 European Cup finals with us.

Klopp was his transformation for us. Rodgers use of him was like a horny teenager playing with a bird's tits for the first time.
