I've not seen any of it but the black jedi hunter has been given some racist shit on Instagram and it's all turned into some massive ballyhoo, Anson Mount and McGreggor and the likes all weighing in publicly.

I'm always wary with stuff like this because it happened with Ghostbusters, where the studio sets the tone early on that if something doesn't do well, it's because the 'fandom menace' don't like ethnic minorities of women, which is the main reason people don't like Discovery, not because it's abject shite, but because the basement dwellers can't handle the idea of a strong and Independent woman of colour in charge of a starship.

As I say though I'm not familiar with the specifics, has something particularly vicious happened, beyond the usual sewage that pours out of social media on a daily basis?

I think Disney have been calling out specially the racist DM’s she’s been getting, of which she’s shared.

It’s about time they called out some of this nonsense publicly (very aware that Disney doesn’t have the greatest track record too)

Enjoyed Episode 3. Much better than the first two. A couple of brutal deaths in there as well. Reva isn’t exactly an interesting character so far, but anyone throwing racist shit her way just because they don’t like a character who’s background we haven’t seen yet, is bang out of order.

Yeah totally agree here. The racist stuff is beyond the pale.

I get the criticism of just dropping this character in from nowhere and giving Reva what seems quite and important part in the show, and I don’t have an issue with the character (I think she performs it very well) it just feels a bit forced into the she show so far.

Three episodes in, and everything looks so bland and uncinematic, the writing is atrocious and direction seemingly absent. Ewan McGregor does his best, but the series comes off as amateurish, with scenes barely making any sense.

That's where I am, the dialogue is so bad Lucas could have written it.

Why change a winning formula?

Good dialogue has never been something I've personally  associated with Star Wars.

I hope they have been purposely pacing it this way for a big build up. Otherwise it will have been good, but not terrific. It is a bit 'cartoonish' in moments but it is Disney after all.

It's just about getting from one moment of nostalgia to the next, you don't need to worry about what happens to get you there.

The musics terrible. They’re recycling the awful mandolorian theme & score and it’s getting on my nerves. I liked the Mando but the music just didn’t fit Star Wars..

SPOILER

Leia should have been returned home by now and the story should have advanced in a new direction. Organa found kenobi easy enough and with his resources could have had them off planet in the last episode.

Why did kenobi take time to blast the road block when he could have just ran around it. As shown when the camera went up.

Why didn’t Vader extinguish the 2nd fire like he’d just done with ease minutes before. He could see the robot carrying him away so why not just force lift them over it. He’d only been hunting him through the galaxy for 10 years like.

Im actually enjoying this but Christ, it doesn’t half test your patience. Every planet has to be a barren wasteland with a market and a boozer. Disney have got all the money in the world but they don’t half go cheap on these TV shows.

Music is all wrong, but definitely relatable when driving the kids and a tooon comes on.

Fucking hell!!! Some proper bad arl arses  in here. If it’s so shit/clichéd/predictable/disappointing, why watch? Going by the tone of some of these posts, I genuinely question why some of you have watched more than five minutes before switching off.
