Sick and tired of this Star Wars tripe. Instead of rehashing this tired old childish and poorly acted gash they should kill it dead and use the money saved to create some original, imaginative, fresh drama, not the same old roid heads in their underpants, green screen CGI jizz fest's which so many sadly wank over.

Out of curiosity, mate, as an adult, have you ever been interested in Star Wars?

I saw the original at the pictures when I was a kid but even then I wasn't impressed. Since then I've watched all of the prequel / sequel rehashes and grown increasingly disillusioned by them.

Each to their own and all that but it's just a never-ending recycling of garbage imo, not driven by anything other than money.

Fair enough. I’ve always loved the original films and the toys that I had as a kid. Saw the prequels at the pictures and thought they were crap. Haven’t bothered with any of the recent films.

Watched this in Imax today. Twas shit. 2/10.

The main problems are:

1:an incoherent mess of a "plot"

2:Serious problems with pacing

3:Too much repetition both during this moving and from other movies

4:Daisy Ridley cannot act and cannot carry a movie

5:Too many plot developments/lines just left hanging

6:No idea why C3PO and R2D2 are in this movie. They serve no purpose

7:Adam Driver is not menacing and is a poor villain

8:Much of Carrie Fisher's appearance looked like outtakes or poor CGI

9:Keri Russell was waster in this.

10:The last scene with Skywalker and Leia was so trite and cringeworthy that people in the audience laughed

I also thought that The Last Jedi was better than this tripe

Why, in your opinion, was it cringeworthy?

Rogue One is the best Star Wars film since the originals, it's not even close. In fact i'd say it comes in after Empire and A New Hope.

The fighting is great, the space battle is top notch (the best in the whole series), Darth Vader brutally kills a load of fellas and pretty much everyone dies at the end. What's not to like. Throw in the delightful looking Felicity Jones, and K2 as a wise cracking sidekick and you're onto a winner.

Started watching Solo today. Got about halfway through and realised I was bored. Its not a bad film, there just seems to be something missing but I can't work out what.

Han Solo more like Han Soulless maybe?

Something missing?

Plot, action, good acting, mystery, character and plot development, tension, empathy, invention, joy, dread, emotion and emotional attachment? Yup, I find these absent too whenever I watch a Star Wars film.

I'm assuming you mean outside of the original trilogy mate?

Just watched Rise of Skywalker. It was shit, like this entire trilogy. All this crap about this being the end. Really? Disney will be churning out endless Star Wars movies in the future so what exactly is ending? Is it the Skywalker/Solo/Kenobi/Palpatine saga? That ended in the original trilogy for me and it's been downhill ever since.

Same as you, loved the originals as kid, prequels were terrible.

Give the recent 3 a watch though- very good all 3 of them.

No idea whether all this is old news or not, but I read that Michael Biehn (!!!) has apparently been cast in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. Think the Rosario Dawson one will be well known by now, but I also read they’re bringing in a character from the original trilogy. Maybe a bounty hunter and possibly even a post-Sarlacc Boba Fett. Nice.

I’ve read that as well. Sasha Banks, the wrestler, is meant to be in it as well. I’d like to see her in a gold bikini chained to a new Hutt character.

Now ROS is on Disney +, I’m seeing lots of “correct” order to watch the films in posts.

Here’s the correct answer...

1. Rogue One

2. A New Hope

3. Empire Strikes Back

4. Return Of The Jedi

...fuck the rest of it. I quite like TFA but given the next 2 instalments aren't up to much, there is no point watching it.

Really like the looks of the Mandalorian.

Just watched Rise of Skywalker again and it's a decent adventure film, reminds me of a kids' rollercoaster.

What the Mandalorian (from what I've seen of the trailers/clips) and Rogue One did well was concentrated on the human stories with space as a backdrop, rather than make them about wacky aliens and the force.

Rogue one didn't really have any aliens in at all, but when The Last Jedi came out it was prequels-esque in its overuse of daft rubbery aliens in casinos and whatnot.
