Would really like to score once but preferably twice. Arsenal are always capable of a goal or two, would like them on the back foot and chasing in preparation for the red wall of sound at Anfield.

There's plenty of teams been terrified on a European night at Anfield. I'd like this lot to experience more of the same.

I would hate to come away from The Emirates chasing the game. It'd be great if we could go there and shut them out. If we don't get one then it's not the end of the world, but we're in need of a goalless draw in my view. If we can get a draw of any sort I'd say it's advantage Liverpool.

I think though that we desperately need parity.

cross section of possible scores

2-0 to us - perfect, tie over.

1-0 to us - almost ours

1-1 or 0-0 good results

0-1 to them still very much in it

0-2 tough but still in it

1-2 good result

0-3 to them,miracle time

0-4 to them its over

its strange to think that we'd have to be 4 nil down to write us off whereas if we were 2 nil up we'd definitely win

I fear these more at home than away, they seem to struggle to press the game at home but are well set up for counter attack. Is Gerrard on two yellows for this one too? if he is he will be targeted for the third by a jelly leg gunner for sure and we will need him for the return leg. Definitely score against them away, possible two. We'll go through over the two legs after extra time.....

I think we just need to be patient. I bet the 4 central defenders see most of the ball in the first half, neither team will want to come out all guns blazing. You just hope we get 1 decent counter-attack that can get us that treasured away goal.

Dangerous team though, the Arse. They have been playing badly in the last couple of months, but they have pace everywhere in the team.
