Chelsea angry over fixture change

Chelsea

Chelsea have reacted angrily to being asked to play two Premier League games in the space of 72 hours after their trip to Everton was rescheduled for TV.

The club argue the change from Saturday 19 to Thursday 17 April "undermines the sporting integrity of the competition", as they also host Wigan on 14 April.

They say it gives their title rivals an unnecessary competitive advantage with more time both to recover and prepare.

Everton have described the fixture change as an "uncomfortable precedent".

Chelsea lie second in the table, five points behind Manchester United, while Everton are pushing for fourth place and Champions League qualification.

The thing is the clubs will sell their souls to the highest bidding TV companies so they have the say when the games go ahead won't they.

In light of Bennett being given the game after it was supposed to be Webb, as Webb was being "rested" only for him to officiate at Villa Park, call me paranoid, but the thing's corrupted to fuck.

It's like last season when we had loads of early kick offs 1245 for the first few months of the season and Rafa was complaining but the club took the money Sky were paying them to show the games at those times on those days. Clubs have to expect and accept that TV runs football now because they all sold out.

How is playing Monday then Thursday any different to playing Wednesday then Saturday, or Thursday then Sunday, both of which happen numerous times through the season?

A bit funny how The Mancs have 6 days between the fixtures and Chelsea now only have three, no?

when has sky ever moved games from a Saturday to a Thursday, that is rare as fuck. Football on sky has always been Sat/Sun/Monday except over the christmas and new years holidays

definitely something dodgy, look at the headline on the Daily Mail

They'll win the title because they're the best side. They may get lucky breaks along the way but they're definitely the best side in the league, the cunts.

Agree. I fucking hate the cunts with a passion but they are the team to beat and the worst thing is its probably only us that can stop them winning the Champs Lge.
