I really like some of the early stuff too, Disturbance At The Heron House being one of their best.

New Adventures in Hi-Fi and Up have some really prominent songs for me.

 

NAiHF is a great album but Up captures some defining moments in my life.

Like some of their stuff -Out of time,automatic,Monster etc and stopped after monster.Got my hands on their Live bootlegs from Dublin and they were fairly decent .they did 3 nites in a row in a really small venue and all 3 were recorded by my mate

Best gig i've ever been to in summer 2005 at OT.

They were Awesome.

Made even better earlier on when the Zutons were on and they finished with "we'll just take 5!"

It was a couple of weeks after Istanbul and there were more cheers than boos!

Liked REM since about 1988, saw them live at the MEN Arena in 1999. Life's Rich Pageant probably my favourite album. New album out soon l think.

They've never made an album I especially like, but they've recorded many songs I love. "Don't Go Back To Rockville" is my favourite, but then I had a long term relationship with a girl from Rockville, MD...

I used to be a big fan in the early days with Document and Green etc but when they released Shiney Happy People I couldn't bring myself to buy THAT album and have not bought anything since. Maybe at that time when Automatic for the people came out it seemed they had crossed over from cool Indie Mofo's to commercial giants as you invariably do eventually.
