The Blues Brothers..

Despite your tasteless ignorance, you have touched on the most pressing unanswered question of the last century:

Why was a movie featuring soul music called the Blues Brothers?

Maybe because the two charecters are called Jake and Elwood Blues, and they're brothers...just a guess!

Aye, that might be it like....I can see how that might be a touch complex for some folks grasp though.

I watched some of this the other night, the first time I'd watched it for 20 years or so.

John Landis needs a slap.  He must have been so high on cocaine shooting the film, they forgot to go and edit it.  You could hack at least 60 minutes out of it and it would be a good film.  150+ minutes.  Truly awful.

I say I watched some of it, as it was so slow I had to turn it off and go to bed.

Got to Rawhide, so went to bed happy, at least.

He was probably partying with John Belushi while the editing was going on.

I would have to agree that The Blues Brothers is a load of shite, it was ok when I was about 12, the way Dan Aykroyd speaks in it makes me want to shoot orphans & all the songs are speeded up/produced horrendously.

Put it on early.  Preferably after snorting some speed or something.

The opening scene of Belushi getting out of prison lasts at least 10 minutes.  Nobody would have complained if it had been 2.

The Aretha and Rawhide sequences are worth the entry fee.  But honestly, it is incredibly slow.
