What are the rules where you live?

Where I live it's one year seperation and you can go to family court on 'uncontested divorce day' and file and 30 days later it's done.

There are two grounds for divorce in Canada- broken down beyond snd reasonabke grounds for repair (proven by living apart for one calendar year) and proof of adultery or physical/mental abuse.

I knew that mate. Just difficult to tell her to go shove the deal up her cunt when I want to save the marriage.

If she's come up with that deal as a serious proposal, as hard as it is to accept I think you know the writing is on the wall mate.

Sounds like blackmail to me!

She knows I don't want to sell the flat and I reckon she isn't entitled to that much money, so she's dangling a carrot to get the money and she'll be off.

Desperately been trying to go down the route of solicitors but I can't see any other way to be honest.

It really sounds like she's trying to have you off mate, don't know the ins and outs of it though.  Have you access to your past bank/mortgage statements so you can brush away her claims for that amount?
