Wondering what the various captains would think of your illegal streaming.

Picard and Janeway firmly opposed. Sisko would decide he could live with it, Kirk doesn't like to lose. Archer initially supportive but changes his mind. Pike not impressed at all, Burnham would cry then hug you.

What about Lorca? Or Saru?

Anyway. I couldn’t wait, I watched it; it was everything I wanted it to be and more. It felt like the start of something that could be very special. I welled up a couple of times, the scenes were that powerful for me. It was seriously good, and aside from some very, very minor teething newness/awkwardness it hit the ground running. I can’t wait to watch it again, then for people to tell me how shit it is.

I want it to be really good. Just not sure how to watch it yet.  May wait until all 10 have aired and ask my mate to 'find it' for me.

Yeah, it’s pretty ‘young’ but it’s also pretty much Trek in feel, except for the first episode which was more Star Wars Clone Wars feel. Worth it I’d say. Not the same as DSC or PIC.

Cool will check it out. Always liked Janeway so will be good to have her back even if it’s in animated form.

Now that felt like Star Trek.

*May contain very weak spoilers*

A strong start, and a couple of minor nitpicks aside, pretty much as good as I could have hoped for. I think it was a brave decision to have a simplistic, common-in-Trek, first-contact plot. It gave you chance to meet the crew before any highbrow SciFi is introduced. Probably my favourite pilot since The Cage.

Watched it last night and thought it was great for a first episode, some slightly clunky parts as they try and explain characters back stories etc as you would expect and is the same issue with most shows.

we got to meet some of the crew, who all seem professional, plenty of Easter eggs for ST fans and easy intro for newer fans. Pike is great and I think most of the crew are well cast.

If it carries on in this vein it’ll be just what we wanted. Hopefully we get some more specific crew cantered episodes so we can expand on them more.

Minor spoilers

la’an - she reminded me of Tasha Yar with her back story. Will be interesting to see how her surname ties in with the rest of trek. She also looks a lot like drummer from the expanse.

overall great start.

Didn’t realise SNW was out. Added to this evening’s watch list of Moon Knight, Picard (I’ve come this far so I may as well stick to the end) and Tokyo Vice (which, if I haven’t mentioned before…) is great.

Was a little worried with how slow the pre credits scenes were, but they got me with the opening credits and proper Star Trek music.

Can’t really add to the positive reviews so far without getting into spoiler territory- suffice to say I enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed that. Mount as Captain Pike is superb. After the lame leads we've had in Discovery and Picard (sorry, but Stewart has been lame in this series), it's great to see a captain with some charisma and personality. He feels like a Star Trek captain, and this feels like a Star Trek series. Let's hope they keep this up.

I feel unusually pensive about watching it, not that I have the means to anyway, but recent Trek has specialised in sucker punches.

I know somebody who uploaded it to their gdrive, pm me if you want a link so you know to avoid it. If you want.

Get it watched Mark, it's outstanding. 52 minutes absolutely flew by. I've loved Star Trek since I wad a kid, coming home from school and watching Kirk, Spock and Bones on BBC2 in the old days was almost a ritual for me. This took me back to those days. It looks wonderful on screen, and I appreciate it's very early days and so entirely premature, but the magic of the original series seems also to be there. I actually couldn't believe how good it was and how much even this early on, I really like so many of the crew.
