There's nothing a lot wrong with Gladiator 2 apart from it being really fucking boring and ultimately a pointless rehash. It just didn't have that initial feeling of awe of seeing a filmmaker's recreation/vision of Rome and the Coliseum.

Scott says he's written 8 pages for a third installment. I'd suggest he stops there.

And the sharks with a set out of BBCs Total Wipeout spare parts!

its beyond ridiculous and its been getting 4 stars aswell

That meschal lad put me off, I've seen him on interviews and he reminds me of your best mate's brother who doesn't know he's gay.

My Daughter and her mate said they where going to see it, I said don't bother.

Apparently he's eye candy?

I watched it and thought, could have got a better looking guy than him.

Falling in Love.

1984 romance/drama starring Meryl Streep & Robert DeNiro. This was better than I remembered although DeNiro doesn't pull of the normal 9-5, ordinary Joe as well as he does a gangster or a lunatic & Streep probably comes away with most of the acclaim here.

The film is certainly better than actually falling in love, which will only end up costing you tens of thousands of pounds and your place on the property ladder in my experience.

Nice review and social commentary

@Tony Moanero

Miracle on 34th Street. Original. 1947.

10/10. How could you not believe?

Despite its years its showed up very

good.

Although I was surprised the mother didn't say, " I'd thank you for not smoking in front of my child and desist from playfully smacking her arse"

On reflection, I think both this and the remake are excellent films in their own right. Well I say film, it's more of a documentary. Believe.

I'm sure Natalie Wood must appear in the retro beauties thread? What a stunner.

It’s superb, isn’t it? I’ve only watched the 1994 version once and as such can’t remember much about it other than Richard Attenborough is perfect for the part.

Haha. Funny because it's true.

Had the misfortune to watch Carry-On last night. Utterly, utterly ridiculous with plot holes that are even more ridiculous. I can’t even begin to describe how shite it is. 0/10. Worse than Hitler.

My best mate has terminal cancer. He says the only good news about it is that he won’t live to see this come on terrestrial tv when he’s channel hopping. Read into that what you will.

Carry On

90s Hollywood cheese is back baby! Loved it. His bird was top shelf. Ending completely predictable but in a brilliant way.

7.5/10 because let’s face it, as enjoyable as it is it’s a load of shite but in the best way. A real feel good movie for our times.

Kraven - 6.5/10. Overall, another Spiderverse botch by Sony. I always loved Kraven in the comics, and Aaron Taylor Johnson is pretty good in the role. The animalistic movement and fighting style is spot on, but save for Russell Crowe’s admirably cruel Russian mob boss dad, the suppprting cast are weak as fuck. You want to see Kraven v Spiderman, not some formerly bullied kid with a severe case of psoriasis.

War of the Rohirrim - 6.5/10. A LotR story we didn’t really need. Namely, how Helm’s Deep came to be called Helm’s Deep. With a Rohirrim princess main character whose name you “won’t hear in tales or songs” - probably because they’ve made her up and she doesn’t appear in any of Tolkien’s books. A cross between Éowyn and Disney’s Merida. No doubt GD will be muttering “woke nonsense” but it’s just a story.

The secret is not to fall in love but just actually tolerate living with them. Oh,and spend a fair bit of time apart.

The Duke

Understated British drama based on the true story of a bloke from Newcastle in the early Sixties who stole a Goya from the National Gallery and tried to get a ransom, in order to raise money for telly licences for pensioners.

Jim Broadbent leads a quality cast, and he's impeccable as ever.

Lovely little film.

I started it the other night and turned it off, I wasn’t enjoying it either.

It reminded me of Phone Booth, the film with Colin Farrell, more than Die Hard.

Not sure it’s worse than Hitler, certainly as bad as apartheid though.
