Lee.

The story of the experiences of female wartime photographer Elizabeth 'Lee' Miller.

Winslet is excellent.

An engrossing 8/10.

We watched that last night. She seems to enjoy taking her top off which isn’t a bad thing.

Watched the 4K version of The Shining on Halloween and was astounded to find out that it was 25 minutes longer than the version i know and love. For the early parts me and the Mrs were saying to each other "I don't remember this bit" so i researched it and it turns out that the UK had this abridged version whilst the US (and i think the rest of Europe) had this longer cut on general release.

In all honesty i'm not sure the additional scenes add anything earth-shattering to the film. And, more worryingly, i found myself thinking that there were so many comedy elements to this film that i'd really not noticed before.  The ludicrous build up to Scatman Crothers arriving at the hotel (getting "shining" vibes in his house in Miami, plane journey, pop into see his mate at the Gas Station, car journey, snowmobile journey) to just walk through the door and get an axe in his chest is hilarious, most of the Nicholson faces he pulls from once he first goes into the ballroom and up to the end are ridiculously funny too, as are the noises he makes in the maze chasing Danny. I don't want to start sniggering watching one of my favourite movies, but here we are.

Watched the Beetlejuice sequel, 'not impressed.

Other than Keaton, this was a complete waste of time & they completely overegged the musical numbers to the point where I was tempted to turn it off a couple of times nearer the end. 3/10

Strange Days (1995)

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114558/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

Ralph Fiennes plays a former cop who peddles discs that when hooked up to a person gives them the memories and sensations of the recorder. Set against the end of the millennium and racist police violence, he uncovers a plot when using one of the discs.

Hadn’t heard of this film

until recently. Great cast and premise, and directed by Kathryn Bigelow.

7.5/10

Kathryn Bigelow is usually a guarantee of a good film.

Currently watching Fury Road for an article I'm thinking of writing. This is the best film of the 21st century. An absolute miracle of a picture; I love every single frame.

It’s still a travesty this guy didn’t sweep up all the best supporting actor prizes during award season…

Juror #2

Mr Eastwood's new film. A courtroom drama starring the brilliant Toni Collette and a fantastic cast.

The film looks and sounds great and kept me enthralled throughout.

Sidney Lumet would be proud.

9/10 Kodi Fen Lite Real Debrid

Blood and Black Lace

Pretty enjoyable 1964 Mario Bava slasher. The colour scheme is lurid, and the fashion sharp. Quite grisly, even by modern standards, but then maybe it just seemed that way as the violence is against women and some sequences are protracted, with a fair bit of screaming. Ridiculous genre fodder, but stylishly shot.

6/10

No idea who directed but it was confusing and a poor example of the psychological thriller/horror genre,in my opinion.

We watched it at the weekend. I got fed up with it and picked my tablet up. She watched til the end but said it wasn't great.

I've yet to see an M Night Shyamalan film that's interested me tbh.

Caddo Lake? It's neither a psychological thriller nor a horror.

It is,sort of. I dont want to give the game away regarding the 'twist' but until near the end that's how it was trying to play out. Just not very good whatever genre it went under.

Nah. It's a mystery thriller. Nothing psychological or horror about it.
