"65" where Darth Vader's grandson lives on a planet just like ours in every single way but decides to fly elsewhere and colonise another planet (no idea why). His ship hits a meteor storm and he crash lands on Earth, you've guessed it, in 1965. Actually, no, it was 65 million years ago. Anyway, everyone dies in the crash apart from him and some little girl and they have to fend off some mad dinosaurs for 90 minutes. Can't really recall a huge amount of plot and it was all very ludicrous and not very brain taxing at all. Still, an easy, if dumb, watch and the CGI is decent for a change.

5/10

Hang on: Star Wars meets Dinosaurs?

Fucking hell.

Anyway, "Talk To Me" - Overrated but not bad. Worth a watch if you're a horror fan.

Rise of the Footsoldier: Vengeance - 8/10

This is very good, definitely the most serious and least cartoonish of the franchise. It's pretty much a stand alone movie, with a few nods to the other films but nothing vital if you've not seen them.

The action scenes are excellent and the story/characters are as you'd expect but in a good way.

There was less 'mockney' language than previous installments but when Fairbrass did come out with one his famous 'Fackin' Cunts' there was audible giggling in the cinema, myself included.

Overall it was highly entertaining and enjoyable.

Craig Fairbrass may be no Robert De Niro but he's found his niche in these types of films and he's boss at it.

Yeah he's class, he's underrated IMO. I want his leather jacket with the fur collar too.

If I recall correctly he started in London’s Burning alongside Robson & Jerome.

The Mauritanian. 10/10

Joďie Foster and Benedict Cumberbatch, true story of Guantanomo Bay and how the USofA think they can do what they want.

Really solid cast and script

To kill a mocking bird 1962. 7/10.

Easy watch classic film starring Gregory Peck.

Racial tensions in a small american town, with an all white jury. Think I'd describe it as told through the eyes of children.

The Little Things is awful.

I couldn't believe what I was watching at times, it just didn't make sense. Like a professional falsifying autopsy results, a cop not only willingly getting into their suspect's car, but then digging holes for him, the 'breakthrough' seemingly being that a car had a lot of miles on the clock- and that's before the whole jurisdictional issues of a cop from another force suddenly participating in a murder investigation. Just drivel. Malek was also horribly miscast, presumably in an attempt to mirror what Seven did in terms of the leads.

The Big Lebowski

I still can't really warm to the film. I don't dislike it, it has excellent acting, is well shot etc but there's something that keeps me distanced. The script at times feels almost messily improvised.

6.5/10

I have tried to watch this a few times and never got to finishing, it's not a bad film but I don't think it's befitting of the praise/love it gets.

It's been a while since I last tried to watch it, maybe I'll give it another go sometime.

Are you a fan of other Coen brothers films?  If so, which ones?
