Darkest Hour. 4/10. Maybe because I was tired when I started watching it is didn't enjoy it that much. Felt like I was watching an ITV drama rather than a cinema release.

Lots of shouting though and the Aussie fella from the Dark Knight and Rogue 1 played the King.

I fell asleep about 90 minutes in. Oldman was boss, to be fair, but i found it a tad dull. Clearly.

Re-watched '71 on Saturday as well. Tremendous film that, even the second time around i was as tense as anything. Good to see some of the cast of Dunkirk in it as well, which i hadn't got onto originally.

Each to their own but I was just numb throughout the whole thing.

Yeah, I liked that one quite a lot. I think it went down quite well in general, didn’t it?

Edit: yeah, 88% google users, 94% Rotten Tomatoes, 7.9 IMDB . So went down ok. I’m the same with that cellblock 99. Good reviews but I thought it was beyond ridiculous.

The Jungle Book (live action remake) 8/10

Really enjoyed that. Never really enjoyed the original when a kid, was always one of my least favourite Disney films so I wasn't really rushing to see this latest version. However, really glad I did.

Tons of CGI involved but done very, very well and emotion being captured very well. The boy who played Mowgli was great and all the voice actor choices for the animals were all pretty much spot on.

Glad I checked this out, very well made film.

Boss film this. One of those films that I can sit and watch no matter what point I switch it on.

Same with goodfellas, empire strikes back and jaws.

The last jedi 5/10

Shite, basically a film made by a committee, felt like they had a checklist of all the things they had to include then came up with a half arsed story to fit around it.

Annihilation 4/10

Shite, like with Bright I read the reviews but thought the trailer was interesting enough to ignore them. Takes ages to go nowhere.
