Rate the last film you watched...

Quick question

I tend to mostly watch films that have been released on DVD (live in foreign country etc, etc). However this means that I often look for films to watch by hitting this thread and going back about 6 months. Is it worth making my life easier by having a "Rate the last DVD you watched" thread, or will it die on it's arse?

I'm not sure that would work. I personally very rarely go to the cinema so most of my postings on here are off the back of watching Dvds. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Zero Dark thirty - turned it off after 40 minutes.

Slow, not very engaging and was expecting much action from it. Certainly didn't have the patience to wade all the way through all 2 1/2 hours to get to the climax of it.

Just in case you were wondering; the bad guy gets killed in the end.

Not watching it as I've seen it so many times, but LA Confidential is on ITV4 right now. Every time I catch some of it, it always gets me thinking how good it would be if HBO made a mini-series out of Ellroy's American Tabloid. They've shown they can convincingly do the Prohibition Era with Boardwalk Empire so I've no doubt that they can put together a slick and edgy take on another era, and I'm certain they could attract a fantastic cast.

A good day to die hard.

Utterly, utterly shite. One of the worst films I think I've ever seen.

1/10

Swerve.

I put this on yesterday and turned it off as soon as the first chase scene finished. Like Stallone has tweeted, Willis is now only making movies for the paycheck.

Lovelace...a tad disappointing but not boring. It was neither one thing nor the other. It was not a gritty expose of the true nature of the porn industry and mafia involvment, nor a weighty drama about their personal relationship. It felt rather flimsy and rather uninvolved.

6/10

The Hot Flashes...could have been good but needed a better script. 5/10

Good god man, what made you watch that? Please tell me you were dragged by your bird.

Was indeed, we had to "look after" her little bother for the day. Cinema costs me fuck all with the card, so thought it'd be for the best - terrible film and the kid wouldn't sit down and shut the fuck up for one minute.

He must have gone for a piss 5 times during a 1 hour and 20 minute film.

Looper - 7/10 slightly predictable I thought and why did everyone mumble their way through it? I found myself having to adjust the volume between dialogue and action

Dredd - 8/10 great action film, think they shoehorned the "slo-mo" thing in for the benefit of the 3D effects (of which I got none of the benefit) but very enjoyable. Prompting me to go and read all of 2000AD
