I watched Aliens tonight with my 15 year old nephew who’d never seen it. Not seen it for years. Fucking brilliant. 10/10. Hard to believe it’s 36 years old. The effects hold up well even now. In fact it looks better the way they did stuff back then. Nowadays everything is saturated with CGI effects it looks more artificial.
Need to go back and watch the first one again now.

I'd like to think you watched the full length directors cut? If It had the scene with the turrets, that'd be a yes.

The Gray Man - 6.5/10

Decent line up - Ryan Gosling, Billy Bob, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas were each pretty good. Regé-Jean Page was awful. Enjoyable enough action scenes and some light hearted comedy, but I would never watch it again. Not in the same league as Bourne.

The Gray Man - It is what it is. A not unenjoyable way to spend a mindless 2 hours. Nothing like the Bourne films, certainly not in tone as it’s much more light hearted. Chris Evans was quality. I see they’ve already green lit a sequel.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent - I thought it was quality. Cage was hilarious.

Blade - Considering comic films were still finding their feet then, this is clearly one of the better efforts to come out at that period. The effects haven’t aged well at all.

Rent-a-baddy performance. Although the tone of the whole film would have made it difficult to be truly sinister.

A lot of the reviews on here are very clever and intellectual, but surely you are allowed to watch the odd film that isn't going to change your life.

Got a bit worried when I started reading your post, then realised that you can't be talking about me.

The trailers typically made it look superb. It wasn't. Time for extinction.

It started off Ok and introduced some interesting themes about co-existence and stuff but once it went to Malta, it just turned to…

I also don’t understand how, after 30 years, the film looks worse than the original,

Repped for the use of the Gif.

I thought the first two JP films were great entertainment, the third one a bit meh but watchable.

The recent ones though have been poor in comparison imo.

My 6 year old Grandson loves dinosaurs and they're fine for him, a bit of a chore for me though.

Agree with your original trilogy assessment, I think the first Jurassic World is decent enough, few daft moments, overall I enjoyed it.

Fallen Kingdom and Dominion are so poor.

IMO, the original is one of the best films ever made. I was to young for the original Star Wars, for people my age (40) this and Terminator 2 were the two films where you were blown away to with the effects. It still looks great today.

I go to California in 2 weeks, looking forward to going on the updated ride at Universal. I want to get my 7 year old daughter with this…

If you watch films to change your life, I'd suggest you watch more films...

Why wait when she could witness the truth?
