Creation Records - The Alan McGee Story

Superb. I was a bit worried it would be too "Oasis" if that makes sense but nah, genuinely fucking brilliant watch for what it is. Got goosebumps at the moment in King Tuts when he discovers Oasis but it's not an Oasis film. 8.5/10

After Upside Down I'm not sure there's a need for another Creation Records story but apparently this is written by Irvine Welsh so I'll be giving it a go.

You been to King Tuts?

Bizarrely, I haven't. I even had a ticket to go and see my mate headline there two years ago and fucked it off because I couldn't be arsed with Glasgow.

I've decided that I miss live music now though so will try & rectify it soon.

Yeah, I can fake a smile for most things, but this is the one that's really kicking me in the dick.

I don't go to many gigs anyway to be honest. People talking through the music makes me homocidal & I've had to leave on several occasions due to it. Hopefully people can appreciate the music a bit more when it returns.

Justice League - it gets better as it goes along and ends up being a very decent action flick. Probably the best DC film I've seen so far, hopefully they continue on this line. Very long though and it doesn't even finish it's story so clearly a sequel is planned.

This is one to watch on the big screen if possible, might have to try out the projector for the first time. This film certainly deserves it. 8/10

Babytooth - 7.5/10. 16 year old Aussie school girl befriends 20-something druggy fuck up and they develop a relationship as she gets ill from cancer while her psychiatrist dad and prescription drug-addicted mum look on. It sounds depressing, but it’s funny and romantic and quite moving. Plus it looks great and the family house is incredible: the very definition of attainable luxury.

Justice League - this might be better than the original cut but it's still pretty bad. There's no peril, the villains are awful with no motive, it's bloated, the acting and dialogue isn't great and the CGI is often over the top and crap (Steppenwolf's armour, for example). Aquaman, Cyborg and Wonder Woman are badly represented by poor actors. Everything the MCU does right, DC do wrong.

3/10.

It took me about 4 sittings but I finished Synders Justice League.

I enjoyed it.

It’s obviously hindered by the long run time, but it had to meaningfully introduce Cyborg and Flash as the DCU is nowhere near as well planned out as the MCU.

Also, not sure what the last 20 mins of the Epilogue was meant to achieve. The film was essentially finished. Although there were some neat bits, it looked more likely to just serve as setups for sequels (which aren’t happening) and introduce fan favourites for no reason.

Carlito's Way - dvd

Bundled on a 3-dvd set off eBay alongside Casino and Scarface. It shouldn't be in the same country, let alone the same box. Couldn't imagine why I'd never seen this movie and then we started it last night. Every cliche in the book accompanying a terrible script, not even Pacino could drag this up from the bottom of the deepest ocean.

Could only bear to watch 25 excruciating minutes @Bjornebye you big fucking spunkbubble.

2/10 - abysmal

You know fuck all about films then. Carlitos Way is a superb film. Don’t ever comment on films again and expect to be taken seriously

Lots of good information on the epilogue (spoilers) and any chances of a sequel. The epilogue is effectively how the sequel would have played out...

Batman is accused of being a coward for not sacrificing his own life to save another plus Superman coming to fight against Batman suggests Lois Lane is killed and Bat man could have stopped it but didn't

Although Carlito’s Way is good, I’d agree it’s not in the same class as Casino or Scarface (even if the score means Scarface has aged badly).

Scarface is shite.

Dead Man's Shoes - 9/10. What a film. Absolute triumph. Paddy Considine is sublime - the British Travis Bickle.

"I’m not threatening you mate. It’s beyond fucking words. I watched over you when you were asleep and I looked at your fucking neck and I was that far away from slicing it. You’re fucking there mate! [He clenches his hand] So get in that car… and FUCK OFF!"

I like Scarface, so I've not repped you for that comment but Dead Man's Shoes is being brilliant.

Thought it was fantastic and hope they allow him to make the sequal.

Wonder woman is brilliant in this and the contrast between her in this and that shitshow wonder woman 2 is light night and day.

I'd say a sequel could be more likely if this gets a cinematic release out of lockdown as financially it would not make sense to make it. Snyder has said he has been told the sequel will not be made "with him", which was an interesting choice of words for him to release.
