Training Day, for which he won the best actor Academy Award, is pretty spicy.

That's what I qualified the statement with 'for the most part' because there is, as you say, Training Day plus the Hurricane is alright too. But then there's a mass of blah especially since the late '90s.

Good example, enjoyed Training Day but Denzel just comes across like he could eat himself.

The character he plays in Training Day, fair enough, but he's like that in nearly everything imo.

Honestly, Flight is a dreadful film. After the aeroplane backflip over the church at the start it abruptly decides it's going to be about airline alcoholism instead.

Neither this nor that, extremely disjointed and very overrated.

You wank into a tissue wet-bag. You're the religious co-pilot aren't you. Jesus loves you.

All of Denzel's movies. Obviously people are allowed an opinion when it comes to entertainment and art but when you look at a lot of these films and think there's only a few good movies and performances in there, well there's definitely something amiss

I just think he’s a hard working actor who churns out the films in a world where there aren’t many great roles for black leading men. Interestingly his son is just as charismatic in my view but is arguably benefitting from a changing view of the roles black actors can play.
