Hush- home invasion thriller on Netflix. I really enjoyed this, it's not a horror movie and has pretty much zero jump scares but it manages to generate a huge amount of tension and you end up really rooting for the heroine, a deaf-mute author living by herself. It's not even an hour and a half long so there's no real lull in the pacing- it's straight into things after barely 10 minutes. Kate Siegel makes a very engaging main character and it's very cleverly done by her husband Mike Flanagan, who also directed her in The Haunting of Hill House and several other horror films.- 8/10.

That's the bugger! I watched a bit of it some time ago and- for whatever reason- never finished it. I was trying to remember the name so thanks for reminding me.

I've seen the remake (about 12 years ago) & still get wound up thinking about it now.

Tension? It's not torture porn, is it?

Marriage Story - Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson as a couple at the end of their relationship and all that ensues. It's not a groundbreaking story but the performances, especially Driver, are exceptional and it really draws you in for it's 2+ run time. 9 out of 10

Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. 8/10

Very entertaining and very stylish etc. Some excellent performances and very enjoyable throughout.

In Inglorious Basterds it was ok but silly to rewrite history because Hitler was a public and historical figure.

The rewriting here left a very bad taste in the mouth in an otherwise good film

Are you saying that Brad Pitt didn't really kick Bruce Lee's ass?

Dark Waters

If you like true accounts of big court cases against big companies doing bad things that involve water, you will really like this film.

If you don't?

I still think you will like it, but maybe not as much.

8.7/10.4

Mad Max

Never sat down to watch this as I just assumed I had seen it at some point. Seems like I haven't. Proper old school tough action film and some of the stunts are insane. 8.1/10.8
