Hadn't seen this in years, and it's still an absolutely gorgeous looking film. Problem is the acting is terrible and the score is just too intrusive for my tastes.

 

Enjoyable though.

The Titan 
 

After a Google app recommendation about the “best sci fi film on Netflix you haven’t watched” I put The Titan on yesterday morning as I quite enjoy watching a film first thing on a Sunday morning. 
 

Sam Worthington and Tom Wilkinson star in this “Netflix” film. 
 

Honestly, I don’t think there’s been one decent Netflix film. Always feels like it’s directed by the numbers.

 

The world is becoming uninhabitable after some nuclear war, LA abandonded and a load of scientists and lab rats are put up in a secret base to begin experiments to adapt humans for life on Jupiter’s moon, Titan. 
 

To sum up, I hate that feeling when you’ve invested a bit of time into a film, but you end up not caring about the characters or what happens.

I can't rate this film, I don't know what the fuck I've just watched. She's went to her mates for tea so I put this on as I didn't think it would be something she'd like. Fucking hell I didn't even like it, seriously felt uneasy all the way through especially when all of a sudden a full blown graphic orgy kicks off and you see some fell trying to get his hand wedged up some womans arse. Very odd ending although the shit on the table did add a bit (the only bit) of humour to the whole film. Craig Fairbrass is a scary bastard.

Yeah i thought that Fairbrass was good in this. A lot of his roles are pretty similar but their was a bit more nuance to this role. I thought the orgy was hilarious. Just a collection of weirdos enjoying their weekend.

Nobody - 6/10. Action scenes at the more brutal end of the spectrum and a degree of editing that somehow manages to fuck up the pace of a 90 minute action movie and cut the narrative to the point where the character isn’t properly established. John Wick without the mythology or fun.

It's a Nick cage film about a retired chef/truffle hunter who loses his prize truffle pig, to gangsters who want to exploit his pigs abilities to snaffle the best truffles, and finding it becomes obsessional.

 

Oh, yeah, he's hard as shit for some reason.

 

The film is stunning visually and Cage is Cage doing a restrained, yet somehow batshit, version of his Nick Cage persona.

 

It's mad.

I asked a few months ago, can't recall if anyone responded (to be fair it may have even been on Twitter) but do you think that the Fairbrass character was a figment of his imagination then? That's the only way that it made sense to me.

Blood Red Sky on Netflix. Fuck me, what an incredible little genre movie this is. Great premise, almost totally unheard of cast and a brilliant script that is perfectly paced. Definitely not one for the pseuds and chin strokers, but if you love boss little B movies, this’ll blow you away. Get on it, thrill fans. 10/10.

I’d like to have seen Zemeckis  interviewed but the others are a good watch. Only on for 45 minutes but I could have watched another hour.
