Ha ha, no chance.

When a naked man is chasing a woman through an alley with a butcher's knife and a hard-on, I figure he isn't out collecting for the Red Cross!

Can't remember the cinema on London road? Essoldo maybe?

They used to show double main films.

Dirty Harry and Magnum Force

Dirty Harry and King Boxer

Can't imagine how many times I've seen it.

Marvellous.

Take Shelter

Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain star in this film about a hard working construction worker who begins having apocalyptic visions. Is he barmy or is it something more?

Frustrating, intriguing, very watchable.

6.5/10 Kodi - Seren - Real Debrid

Black Widow - 6.5/10. Bit of a misstep for the MCU. It’s like they took bits from Winter Soldier without understanding why that film works so brilliantly. Should have carried the torch for the Captain America geopolitical narrative, but doesn’t. Intriguing post credit scene though.

Mrs Paul is away so me and the kids have eaten crap and watched movies for the last two nights. New to both of them were The Social Network and Whiplash with a consensus of “Amazing” for both. I’m going with 9/10 for both films and 10/10 for me for the movie education skills.

We’ve timed tonight’s just right to jump straight into John Wick 3 on Channel 4 now. Nice.

The Ice Road

Liam Neeson plays Liam Neeson in the same film he's made a 101 times before.

1000% predictable at every single monotonous turn. The shittest villain I can recall. Has Neeson got a shred of aspiration or artistic integrity left? His soul is consumed by the filthy dollar.

1/10 for some of the scenery.

The Ice Road - We watched this last night and I agree, it’s a cracking little film. Think you’ve been generous with the score though. I’d go 7/10.

Nomadland - 5/10. Poverty porn made by millionaires. Boring as fuck

The King of Comedy - 7.5/10

DeNiro's stage presence is unreal, enjoyable movie but not one of my favourite Scorcese movies but still very good.

Fast and Furious 9 - 1/10

Utter nonsense.

Nomadland - 7.5/10. Going to disagree with Elite here. Other than the bookend Amazon advert I didn’t see it as boring or poverty porn, but rather a glimpse into the lives of the US nomad community. Not as good as a documentary, but certainly watchable. For me, anyway.

I thought it was fantastic too. McDormand was incredible and the ad-libbed scenes with the genuine nomads were very powerful.

The Vanishing.  it was on the other night.  Managed to capture both the oppression and isolation endured by the lighthouse keeping crew.  The changing interpersonal dynamic was fascinating, and then the story itself was great, as was the acting. 8.5/10

Out of rep. Excellent film.

Land of Mine 8/10

Gripping Danish thriller about young Nazis forced to comb the beaches of Denmark to find and remove the mines left there during the war.

They managed to capture the experience of those involved brilliantly, and the acting was superb all round.

May still be on iPlayer.

He's a bit shite. Watched about 15 minutes before turning it off. I've watched ice road truckers and there's no way anyone would overtake on an ice lake. Same old crap from him.
