Blindfire - Sky Cinema New Releases

Cop attends domestic call, shoots man. Things take a sinister twist when a gamer has set it all up and caused a fatal accident. Not bad, they could have done better as the storyline has far more potential. Worth a shot. 6.5/10

Ides of March - Sky Cinema

Clooney, Gosling and Seymour-Hoffman in a political drama. Wasn't bad, ending could have been better. If you fancy something political then worth a go. 5.5/10

I've got The Death of Stalin recorded but have been putting it off as I thought it might be shite. I'll give it a go in the next few days.

I was in stitches throughout.

Loved it.

Casting Isaacs as a gruff Northern headcase is perfect.

Looper

Not my usual kind of film but she likes sci-fi so we gave it a go. Once I'd got over Joseph Gordon Levitts face having Bruce Willis' nose and mouth put on it I actually didn't mind it. The kid in it is a superb actor, really fucking good and what was he, about 3 and a half? Also, Emily Blunt is in it. She is hot in it but fuck me this was a film from about 9 year ago. She is 10 x more amazing now. I love her. 7/10.

Kidnap (Netflix)

Helle Berry's kid gets taken by a redneck couple. She chases the fuckers. It's nuts but not necessarily in a good way. 5/10.

Dredd (2012) - if you'd never seen a copy of 2000AD then this would be 10/10. Sadly you could never introduce the Dark Judges into this version so for me it was great but not perfect. If someone can combine the best elements of the 95 version with this then I think you'd have a winner.

Colour Out Of Space

Bizarre to the point of feeling somewhat soulless. The descent into madness ends up just a series of fairly random events stitched together, with Nic Cage chewing the scenery. Could've been so much more, as the cinematography, score and acting were pretty decent.

Escape From Pretoria.

Harry Potter stars in a biopic of two apartheid freedom fighters who go to prison for their 'crimes'. Based on true events and a pretty good watch. Can't help but feel the whole film could have been two minutes long with the wizard saying 'Expelliarmus' and flying out on his broom with his quidditch ball.

Pretty goid.

As wrong opinions go, that's pretty fucking wrong.

It's not laugh a minute, but it's not meant to be.  It's a black comedy about real-life monsters, so some of the stuff leaves you gaping rather than giggling.  Still, there are plenty of laughs.

Sicario - 7/10.

Bit of a bonkers movie this one. You assume that Emily Blunt will be the main character but the story revolves mainly around Benicio Del Toro's character (he's really good in it).

I liked it but thought it was a bit muddled in parts.

One of the few films I've actually loathed. Ridiculous plot holes and story, the only saving grace is the stunning cinematography. After this and the disappointing Blade Runner 2049, Villeneuve better not fuck up Dune.

Negged for being disappointed in Blade Runner 2049
