Vice - 8.5\10

Brilliant. The Big Short of Bush Junior Politics. Make sure you watch the credits for the libtard scene.

I can heartily endorse this film. A brilliant satire on some of the biggest cunts the modern world has known. Christian Bale is brilliant as are Sam Rockwell and Steve Carrell too,not to mention Amy Adams as Mrs Cheney.

Boy Erased :  That Australian woman who used to be married to Tom Cruise and that Australian bloke who alleged supported Leeds or something star in a film about having a son who is gay and the father doesn't really like that very much. Based on a true story and well worth a goose, 8/10. It's a slow one though so don't be expecting Action Jackson.

And Russell Crowe? Born in Wellington, New Zealand.

Thats the one. So neither of them are Australian? Other than that, my review stands.

Watched Hyena on Film four again the other night.

Watched it when it was on Netflix originally. Jesus, i'd forgotten just how brutal it is.

A bit like a British version of Bad Lieutenant but instead of angry bookies there are absolutely nightmarish Albanian gangsters, who are into human trafficking. Great soundtrack from The The, and one of the most frustrating endings you could wish to see.

Still, if you like seeing visceral stabbings, dismemberment and rape, this is the film for you.

Solo - A Star Wars Story

Even worse than The Last Jedi, which is some achievement.  An absolute mess with no redeeming features.

Alden Ehrenreich's performance... fuck my life.

This movie clocks in at an unbelievable 135 minutes.  It has no right being that long, no right at all.

2/10

The Nun - 1/10. This is the first time I’ve watched one of these Conjuring Universe films. It’s horrific alright. Just not in the way they intended. Swerve.

Close - 3/10. Noomi Rapace Netflix vehicle about a close protection bod guarding a billionaire’s daughter caught up in a web of corporate conspiracy. It’s so generic it hurts, with virtually every thriller trope present and correct, but with the exception that most of the action has been sucked out of it leaving quite a boring film.

The Borderlands (Final Prayer in the US) - 7.5/10. British low-budget found footage horror about a small team of Vatican investigators looking into a potential miracle at an old Devon church. Benefits from a good script and decent actors. Atmospheric and creepy rather than horrific. A limited cast allows the characters to be fleshed out and a bit more nuanced than the norm. Almost Lovcraftian in its storyline. And at roughly an hour and a half it doesn’t outstay it’s welcome.

Bobby Robson doc on Netflix. 8/10

I demand anyone watch this and not shed a tear, especially when Gazza opens up. Didn’t realise back then that Barca were such cunts either, proper top level cunts. Some of the stick Robson came in for at England and Barca was ridiculous, the way he handled it was so impressive. Can’t help but like the man.
